Xinhua, April 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Brunei police confirmed on Sunday that 27 unexploded bombs left during the World War II were discovered in a construction site in the center of the Bandar Seri Begawan.

In a press statement, the police said construction workers found the mortar bombs that were believed to be from the World War II era during the Japanese occupation of Brunei between 1941 and 1945.

The police statement said the supervisor of the construction workers informed the police on Saturday. As a result of the discovery, a part of Jalan Ong Sum Ping road was closed.

The police urged members of the public to refrain from touching or disturbing any suspicious or dangerous items. Endi
