Dutch chip equipment producer ASML reports sales rise in Q1, 2015

Xinhua, April 15, 2015 Adjust font size:

ASML had a good start in 2015, the Dutch chip equipment producer stated on Wednesday.

The first quarter net sales of ASML amounted to 1.650 billion euros (1.749 billion U.S dollars), compared to 1.494 billion euros in the fourth quarter of 2014. Net sales in the first quarter of 2014 were 1.396 billion euros.

The gross margin of ASML was 47.2 percent, higher than the 44 percent in Q4 of 2014 and the 43.6 percent of Q1, 2014. The net income was 403 million euros in the first quarter of 2015, compared to 305 million euros in Q4 of 2014 and 249 million euros in Q1 of last year.

For the second quarter of 2015, ASML expects net sales of around 1.6 billion euros.

"This confirms our earlier expectation that the first half of 2015 will be stronger than the second half of 2014," CEO Peter Wennink said in a press release. Endit
