Taiwan stocks close 0.5 pct up

Taiwan's share prices closed up 0.5 percent Monday with the weighted index up 48.82 points at 9, 666.52, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

Turnover totaled 82.55 billion new Taiwan dollars (2.64 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session. Endi
