Filmmaker Lu Chuan marries CCTV anchor

Xinhua, April 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese film director Lu Chuan and China Central Television (CCTV) anchorwoman Hu Die have got married, according to a microblog posting by Lu.

The celebrity couple registered their marriage on March 26 in Beijing, Lu said on Sina Weibo, China's equivalent of Twitter, on Saturday.

The 44-year-old from west China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region graduated from the People's Liberation Army International Relations University in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, and then spent two years in the army before studying directing at the Beijing Film Academy.

The experience paved the way for the epic production of "Nanking! Nanking" or "City of Life and Death", a 2009 film depicting the Nanking Massacre. The movie was a box-office hit and won multiple awards.

Hu, 32, from northwestern Shaanxi Province, started working for CCTV in 2008 and and now anchors a morning news program. Endi
