1st LD: At least 15 injured in fire in southern Russia

At least 15 people were injured Sunday in a fire spreading Russia's southern Siberian republic of Khakassia, RIA Novosti news agency quoted a senior official of Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry as saying.

"As a result of unauthorized grass burning in the wilderness, fanned by dry weather and strong winds, the fire currently burned more than 100 buildings in 16 villages and injured 15 people, of whom two are in serious condition," said Viktor Yatsutsenko, head of the ministry's national crisis management center.

He added that nearly 500 people and 90 equipment are on site to extinguish the fire. Endi
