A car bomb went off in a pro-government district of Syria's central city of Homs on Friday, killing a child and injuring nine people, according to Syria's national TV.
The booby-trapped car exploded at the predominantly Christian neighborhood of Araman in Homs, said the report, spelling no further details.
The same district has repeatedly been hit by car bombs, which had killed many people and left property losses during the country's long-running conflict.
The explosion came amid ongoing clashes between the Syrian government forces and extremist militants in the eastern countryside of Homs.
A day earlier, the oppositional Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 17 Syrian soldiers were killed when the Islamic State (IS) militants attacked two checkpoints in eastern Homs. Endit
