Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarf left Tehran for Oman and Pakistan on Wednesday to talk about the crisis in Yemen.
Zarif will first visit Oman for a few hours to exchange views with Omani officials on issues of mutual interest, including the situation in Yemen, the official IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.
The Iranian minister would then leave the Omani capital Muscat for Islamabad later today to hold talks with Pakistani officials about the latest regional developments, according to the report.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said Tuesday that Zarif would tour Oman and Pakistan to convey Iran's deep concern over the humanitarian plight in Yemen.
The Pakistan parliament was about to discuss a possible participation in the Saudi-led military coalition which has launched airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen since last week.
The coalition has accused Iran of interfering in Yemen, which it strongly denied.
At least 200 have been killed and more than 1,300 wounded since the beginning of airstrikes in Yemen's Aden in late March. Endit
