Chinese stocks close higher Wednesday

Chinese stocks ended higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.84 percent to finish at 3,994.81 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.53 percent to close at 13,841.72 points.
