FC Seoul raise complaint over disputed AFC Champions League call

Xinhua, April 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

South Korean soccer club FC Seoul have lodged a complaint with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) over a disputed call in a Tuesday's AFC Champions League match, the club said on Wednesday.

The complaint is about a denied goal in group stage match at the Champions League in Sydney on Tuesday against Western Sydney Wanderers to a 1-1 draw, which put FC Seoul in second place in Group H with two matches remaining.

In injury time, FC Seoul's Lee Woong-hee got off a shot that goalkeeper Ante Covic appeared to have caught past the goal line, which was ruled a save.

After the match, FC Seoul head coach Choi Yong-soo said he felt, from the photos he'd seen of the play, that the ball had crossed the goal line, though he added he would leave it up to the AFC to decide.

In less than 24 hours, the club sent its complaint to the AFC through the K-League, the domestic governing body of professional football. Endi
