Pakistan condemns terrorist attack in Iranian border region

Pakistan on Wednesday condemned the killing of eight border guards of Iran in Negour region.
Gunmen killed eight Iranian border guards in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan near the border with Pakistan, Iranian officials said Tuesday.
The Jeish al-Adl group claimed responsibility for the Monday night attack, according to the report. "We strongly condemn this act of terrorism," the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said. "The government of Pakistan conveys sincere condolences to members of the bereaved families and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran," a Foreign Ministry statement said. "The concerned security agencies of Pakistan are actively investigating this incident, which took place on Iran's territory, and have asked Iranian authorities to share with us any evidence that they have," it said. "In case the culprits have crossed over to Pakistan after committing the crime on Iran's soil, they will be apprehended and brought to justice,"the Foreign Ministry said.
Iranian officials said the members of the Jeish al-Adl attacked the cars carrying the Iranian border guards in the southeastern town of Negur on Monday.
Iranian Police Deputy Chief for Social Affairs Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi was quoted as saying eight Iranian guards and three gunmen were killed in the clash. Endi
