Two killed in light aircraft crash in western Scotland

Two people were killed when a light aircraft crashed in western Scotland on Saturday, Police Scotland confirmed on Sunday.

Search teams found late Saturday the remains of the two people on board and the wreckage of the plane, believed to have been travelling from central Scotland to Tiree and crashed near Oban, said the police.

Radar contact with the aircraft was lost on Saturday afternoon, and an emergency call had been received when the plane was near Beinn Nan Lus, near Glen Kinglass.

A multi-agency search was launched later in the Loch Etive area, involving the police service, ambulance and coastguard, as well as the the Oban lifeboat. Endit
