6 killed in road accident in India

Six persons, including three women and a toddler, were killed and four others injured on Sunday when the vehicle they were traveling in collided with a truck near Aurangabad in the central Indian state of Maharashtra, said police.

A SUV vehicle carrying 10 persons collided with a truck head-on on a highway in the early morning Sunday. The injured were rushed to hospital and the condition of one of the passengers is critical.

Traffic accidents are common India. According to official estimates, some 120,000 are killed on the road each year in the country, mainly due to reckless driving, bad road conditions and lack of enough security surveillance. Endi
