More Australian job vacancies: official data

Australian job vacancies rose 0.8 percent between November, 2014 and February, 2015, showing easing unemployment conditions, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said on Thursday.

Total job vacancies rose to 151,700 seasonally adjusted in the February quarter, from 150,500 in the previous quarter.

Private sector vacancies were up 0.3 percent in the quarter to 138,300 -- the highest reading since 2012.

Public sector vacancies rose 5.6 percent, though at 13,300 they remain at low levels historically.

Cutbacks by both Federal and state governments have affected public sector positions. Endi
