6 Afghan Taliban killed in 24 hours: MoI

Units of police backed by the army have killed six Taliban militants during a series of operations across the country over the past 24 hours, Ministry of Interior said in a statement released here on Wednesday.

The operations, according to the statement, had been conducted in Nangarhar, Takhar, Kunduz, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Ghazni, Herat, Farah and Helmand provinces, during which four more insurgents were wounded and three others arrested.

The statement didn't say if there were casualties on security personnel.

Taliban militants fighting the government, which have intensified activities over the past couple of weeks, are yet to make comment. Endi
