Indian defense minister to visit Japan later this month

Xinhua, March 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar will visit Japan later this month, sources said Wednesday.

"The Defense Minister will be on a two-day tour of Japan, beginning March 30. His visit will be part of this country's defense diplomacy," the sources said.

This will be Parrikar's maiden foreign trip since taking charge, and the visit will be the first foreign visit by a defense minister since November 2013.

The previous Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government's Defense Minister AK Antony visited Japan in November 2013 during his trip to Moscow. Endi
