Guangzhou tie Kashima 1-1 in first half of AFC Champions League

Goulart scored his fifth goal in the tournament to help Guangzhou Evergrande take the lead but Takasaki Hiroyuki netted to pull level for Kashima Antlers in their AFC Champoins League Group H match here on Wednesday.

Goulart rose high enough to ignite the home fans with a header into the back of the net in the 10th minute off Huang Bowen's promising cross into the box from the right side free-kick.

The 25-year old Brazilian forward thus scored his fifth goal in three games in the Champions League.

Hiroyuki equalized for the visitors in the 36th minute after Li Shuai dropped Doi Shoma's shot. Endit
