European Parliament delegation to build ties in New Zealand

Xinhua, March 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

A delegation from the European Parliament will arrive in New Zealand next week as part of a visit to boost political and trade ties, New Zealand Parliament Speaker David Carter said Friday.

The delegation, visiting from March 16 to 19, would comprise members from Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Britain.

They would visit business leaders in Auckland before meeting with political leaders in Wellington, Carter said in a statement.

"New Zealand is a close friend of the European Parliament and offers a link to the Pacific," Carter said.

"Our relations with Europe are very important both politically and economically and the visit by the delegation will provide an important opportunity to further develop this relationship." Endi
