FTSE 100 close higher on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, Britain's benchmark stock market gauge, rose by 0.28 percent, or 18.67 points, to 6,721.51 on Wednesday.

Aggreko's share price increased by 3.76 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Royal Mail, International Consolidated Airlines Group, CRH and Aberdeen Asset Management increased by 3.60 percent, 3.02 percent, 2.53 percent and 2.18 percent respectively.

Coca-Cola HBC AG led the losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 2.33 percent, followed by Sports Direct International (1.94 percent), Antofagasta (1.69 percent), Babcock International Group (1.67 percent) and Johnson Matthey (1.36 percent).

The index has gained 3.20 percent so far this year when measured in U.S. dollars. Endit
