American airline to use retrofitted aircraft connecting Manchester, New York

Xinhua, March 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Manchester is to become the first American Airlines airport in Britain to have retrofitted aircraft with lie-flat business class seats on its flights to New York.

The enhanced Boeing 767-300ER aircraft will be introduced on services between Manchester and JFK airport from March 29.

American Airlines started to retrofit its existing Boeing 767-300ER last year, to offer fully lie-flat Business Class seats with aisle access from every seat. Manchester will be the first American Airlines station in Britain to showcase the new product.

David Thomas, American Airlines Director of Sales for UK and Ireland said: "We are delighted to introduce this new Business Class product as Manchester is important to American and to our joint business with British Airways."

Currently, 50 flights a week link Manchester and the USA, making the airport the leading Atlantic gateway in the North of England. Endit
