French stock market index up 2.37 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 2.37 percent to close at 4,997.75 points on Wednesday, up 115.80 points.

Despite the economic incertainties in Greece and the drop in the value of the euro, investors were confident about the market because of the measures taken by the European Central Bank. As a result, the CAC 40 closed higher on Wednesday with all of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

Wednesday's top three gainers were Alcatel-Lucent, up 5.40 percent, Bouygues, up 4.53 percent, and Airbus Group, up 4.33 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 went down by 1.12 percent to close at 4,881.95 points, down 55.25 points. Endit
