Xinhua, March 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least four people were killed and 20 others injured in a blast that hit Maiduguri, capital city of the north Nigerian state of Borno on Tuesday, witnesses and a hospital source said.

A staff in a local hospital said remains of the victims had been deposited in the morgue.

The blast was heard at the city's El-Kanemi Roundabout at 4 p.m. local time, said a senior medical staff who was not authorized to speak to the media.

The source said bodies of some injured victims were badly burned.

Yusuf Shettima, a civil servant who witnessed the incident, said people rushed for safety as the deafening blast had even shaken some buildings in the area.

The blast occurred three days after multiple explosions killed 54 people and injured 38 others in the city last weekend. Endi
