The summit will bring together around 700 businesspeople and investigators from a wide variety of fields, ranging from communications technology, robotics, security, bio-technology and artificial intelligence.

The event will be inaugurated by King Felipe VI. It will feature industry leaders such as Daniel Kraft, renowned expert in immunology and stem-cell technology, Raymond McCauley, an authority on the application of technology in medicine, biology and genetics and Nigel Ackland, a Briton who has developed a "carbon-fiber" robot arm.

The Singularity University is located in the NASA Research Park in the Silicon Valley, United States and was created in 2008 as a center of innovation in education and the way new technology is applied in key areas such as health, security, environment, etc.
