Passenger number at Bratislava Airport grows with new connections, airliners

Xinhua, March 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

The number of passengers that used M.R. Stefanik Bratislava Airport increased year-on-year by 31 percent, or 31,329 people, within the first two months of 2015, local news agency TASR reported on Tuesday.

"We can state at this moment already that our predictions about the increase of transported passengers in 2015 are coming true," said airport director Ivan Trhlik.

After some years of continuous slump in the number of passengers, the airport expects to see a growth quantified in the hundreds of thousands in 2015.

The reason behind this trend lies in the establishment of new flight connections by low cost airliner Rynair and the arrival of new air carriers such as flydubai and Niki," concluded Trhlik. Endit
