Jordan on Monday confirmed a new case of H1N1 influenza, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

The patient is a 45-year-old man who was detected with the influenza in Jerash Governorate in the north of the country, according to a local health official, who added that the disease does not need particular treatment or special measures.

The H1N1 epidemic first erupted in Mexico in 2009, and then spread worldwide. The virus has killed at least 30 people in Jordan in recent years, according to the Health Ministry. Endit
