ZTE showcases smart devices at 2015 MWC

Xinhua, March 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese mobile device manufacturer ZTE has begun to showcase a range of smart devices at the 2015 Mobile World Congress, which opened here on Monday.

"We are very excited to confirm the upcoming European availability for several of our hottest new products," said Kan Yulun, Vice President of ZTE Corporation and CEO of EMEA & LATAM, ZTE Mobile Devices. He promised his company's products would be available in markets across Europe.

Among those products are the voice operated ZTE Star 2, the Blade S6 and Spro 2, which is a smart projector with an Android operating system.

The Star 2 has English language GPS as well as speech to text input with a Spanish version under development, while the Blade S6 features a set of gesture and motion controls known as Smart Sense.

The Blade S6 will be launched in Spain, Germany and France at the end of this month, where it will be available through network providers, while it is also set for launch in the Asia-Pacific region.

Meanwhile, the Spro 2 is a smart projector, which was initially revealed at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It has a touchscreen operating Android system, contains a mobile hotspot and has full access to the Google Play store.

Perhaps the most interesting product ZTE has presented in Barcelona is the ZTE Grand S3 smartphone, which has an eye recognition system as a means of unblocking it.

The Grand S3 uses a biometric sensor called Eyeprint ID, which looks at the arrangement of space between the veins and the white of its owner's eye to unblock the phone. In order to do that, the user looks at the camera and the phone is unblocked in 0.8 seconds. Endit
