Xinhua's social media accounts to cover "two sessions" in full swing

Xinhua, March 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Xinhua News Agency is pooling its social media resources to cover the upcoming annual sessions of China's national legislature and political advisory body.

The agency's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts under the unified name "New China", just launched on Sunday, will closely follow the events of the two annual sessions, scheduled to open on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.

Xinhua's Chinese accounts in WeChat and leading microblog services as well as its news Apps have opened special sections for the country's most important political event, integrating text news, photographs and videos.

Xinhua's news website, www.xinhuanet.com, has also worked to make its coverage more interactive with Internet users, such as attracting them to post short advice for the government work report, to be delivered by Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday.

Besides bigger presence on social media, Xinhua will continue providing text news, photos and videos through traditional channels in eight languages including Chinese, English, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese and Japanese. Endi
