Xinhua, March 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Investors from China will be part of dynamic economic development in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), said Denis Zvizdic, the new Chairman of Council of Ministers of BiH.

During an interview with Xinhua on Monday, Zvizdic noted trade between the two countries have been increasing in the past few years. It represents additional impulse for more engagement on promotion of investment projects, especially in sectors of energy and infrastructure which can be financed by investors from China, he added.

At the summit meeting between China and Central and Eastern European Countries held in Belgrade on December 15, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang announced the establishment of new investment fund worth billions of dollars for new cooperation in the region.

"The aim of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to attract foreign investments which will generate economic development and employment. I am very sure that investors from China will be part of such dynamic economic development, especially in fields complementary between the two countries," Zvizdic said.

Zvizdic announced that BiH will very soon be totally ready to offer to investors from China with a whole line of projects from various sectors, such as energy, infrastructure, wood industry, food industry and textile industry.

"That will show that BiH has institutional capabilities to accept direct foreign investment," he said, adding that BiH will also work to improve its business environment to attract Chinese investors.

Zvizdic was given a four-year mandate as Chairman of Council of Ministers on February 11 by parliament of BiH.

He graduated from the Faculty for Architecture of Sarajevo University in 1989, and became a PhD of Architecture in 2007. He has been giving lectures as the professor in Faculty for Architecture in Sarajevo, on subject of Urbanism and Space Planning.

He is a senior and influential member of Party of Democratic Action and a close associate of Bakir Izetbegovic, the party leader and a member of BiH Presidency. Enditem
