Indonesia's inflation eases in Feb. after fuel price cut

Xinhua, March 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Indonesian consumer prices index in February accelerates at slower pace, as the government's policy to cut oil prices in January takes effects.

The national statistic bureau announced on Monday that inflation slowed to 6.3 percent in February from 6.95 percent in the previous month on the yearly basis.

Sasmito Hadiwibowo, deputy chairman of the statistic distribution and services of the bureau, told a press conference that the subsidized-fuel price cut has impacted on the reduction of transport cost and food prices.

Core inflation, excluding volatile and administrative prices, reached 4.96 percent in February, falling from 4.99 percent in January, said Sasmito. Endi
