Tokyo stocks opens lower on profit-taking

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower early Tuesday on profit-taking after recent rally.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 33.37 points, or 0.18 percent, from Monday to 18,433.55.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 5.69 points, or 0.38 percent, to 1,497. 14.

Major decliners included mining, rubber and insurance issues. Endi
