West Ham sign Brazilian striker Nene

Xinhua, February 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

West Ham have signed Brazilian striker Nene until the end of the season, the Premier League club said on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old joins the London outfit on a free transfer from Qatari side Al-Gharafa.

"I am very excited and happy to be here," Nene told West Ham's official website.

"I'm proud to come to a really big club like West Ham and I'm going to do my best to help the team. I've been thinking about coming back to Europe for a few months because here the football, the ambiance, everything is better."

Nene has scored over 100 career goals, having had spells at Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Celta Vigo, Espanyol, Real Mallorca and Alaves.

His signing reinforces West Ham's attack following a season- ending knee injury to Andy Carroll earlier this month. Endite
