European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said on Tuesday that the most realistic way forward for Greece is the extension of the current program, which will allow more time for negotiations on the sensitivities that the new Greek government concerned.

"The most realistic way forward is the extension of the current program," Dombrovskis told reporters at a press conference after the meeting of EU finance ministers in Brussels.

"This is the best scenario for Greece and best scenario for Europe as a whole, therefore we should not concentrate on other different scenarios," he said.

He said that the finance ministers of the Eurozone had a very constructive negotiations on Monday and "clearly there is a strong political will on all sides to find a solution" for Greece.

But he stressed that the solution has to be based on principles that "all sides should respect their commitments." Endit
