EU Energy Union concept to be approved Feb. 25

Xinhua, February 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

Despite the progress achieved in recent years, modern energy policies aren't sustainable, hence the decision to approve the EU's Energy Union concept on Feb. 25, Maros Sefcovic European Commission Vice President said Tuesday in Bratislava.

"The creation of a single market is closely related to a reduction in dependency on energy imports and to an increase in the security of energy supplies. The concept of the Energy Union encompasses an ambitious strategy of support for research and innovation in the field of energy," stressed Sefcovic, who also chairs the Energy Union.

Sefcovic expects the Energy Union to lead to the creation of new jobs in the field of reset and development, as well as in the production and installation of modern systems and devices. Endit
