Xinhua, February 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Several dozens of Polish entrepreneurs participated in a conference dedicated to the planned calls for bids organized by the U.S. armed forces in connection with military investments planned in Poland, informed the Polish Ministry of Economy on Thursday.

The conference was co-organized by the Polish Ministry of Economy, the Polish Ministry of National Defence, the European Division of United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Missile Defense Agency (MSA), the United States European Command (EUCOM) and the United States Navy. On the Polish side, around 80 people participated.

The tenders for the supply of equipment and military infrastructure and services for U.S. military personnel will be held based on the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), signed between the Polish and American governments.

The conference aimed at introducing the conditions of participation in the tenders connected with the creation of an anti-missile military base which is to be built in Poland.

The base is scheduled to be operational around the year 2018 in the Polish town of Redzikow. Its main task is to ensure the protection of U.S. territory, American troops in Europe, as well as those of its allies against ballistic missiles. Endit
