Urgent: Oil prices climb amid spending cuts, weaker dollar

Oil prices jumped on Thursday as more producers lowered spending and a weaker dollar encouraged buying.

Light, sweet crude for March delivery rose 2.37 U.S. dollars to settle at 51.21 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Endite
