Seoul shares ended higher on Friday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 2. 68 points, or 0.14 percent, to 1,955.52 at the close. Trading volume stood at 299.87 million shares worth 4.69 trillion won (4.3 billion U.S. dollars).

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market on Friday closed higher for a record 12th consecutive session, creating a new record for the Australia stock exchange.

At the close, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 9.2 points, or 0.16 percent higher at 5,820.8, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 9.2 points, or 0.16 percent, at 5,774.7, according to preliminary figures.

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks closed 0.82 percent higher Friday on rallying crude oil prices, but gains were limited ahead of U.S. jobs report.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 143.88 points, from Thursday to 17,648.50.

The turnover was 2,393.4 billion yen (about 20.40 billion U.S. dollars).

BEIJING -- Chinese stocks declined for the third consecutive day Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.93 percent to end at 3,075.91 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 2.48 percent to end at 10,791. 1 points.

Total turnover on the two bourses shrank to 502.13 billion yuan (81.97 billion U.S. dollars) from 632 billion yuan the previous trading day.

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.70 percent higher on Friday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 53. 94 points to 7,728.18. The all-share index went up by 25.75 points, or 0.58 percent, to 4,496.74.

Trading volume reached 1.90 billion shares worth 10.42 billion pesos (236.12 million U.S. dollars).

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 86.10 points, or 0.35 percent to 24,679.39 points on Friday.

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's share prices closed down 0.58 percent on Friday with the weighted index down 55.87 points at 9,456.18, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX- Index, closed at 83.87 points on Friday, up 0.7 points, or 0.84 percent, against the previous trading session.

A total of 31.191 million shares worth 425.618 billion Vietnamese dong (19.94 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Friday, an increase of 3.16 percent in volume and 8.65 percent in value against the previous trading session.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended higher here on Friday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,813.25, up 10. 04 points or 0.55 percent, and the Emas was at 12,461.92 up 66.05 points or 0.53 percent.

Turnover increased to 1.92 billion shares valued at 2.15 billion ringgit Malaysia(605.80 million U.S. dollars), compared with 1.65 billion shares valued at 2.09 billion ringgit Malaysia( 584.53 million U.S. dollars) on Thursday.

JAKARTA -- Indonesian shares closed higher by 62.62 points, or 1.19 percent, to a level of 5,342.52 on Friday.

Gainers led losers 277 to 140 with 93 remaining stagnant.
