Singapore stocks close 0.73 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 24.78 points, or 0.73 percent, to close at 3,431.36.

A total of 1.08 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 23 billion Singapore dollars (911 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers led decliners 228 to 170, while 540 others finished unchanged.

The STI index shed 10.99 points, or 0.32 percent, to close at 3, 406.58 on Thursday. Endi
