A Roman Catholic church was vandalized early Monday by unidentified men in the Indian capital, said police.

The St. Alphonsa church in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area was found vandalized by at least two men who removed the ciborium and emptied it onto a table, while throwing praying items around, said police. (India-Church Vandalization)

COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka's new-elected government will not lift any bans imposed on the several Tamil Diaspora groups for their alleged involvement with the Tamil Tiger rebels and over their attempts to revive terrorism in the country, local media reported on Monday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Ajith P. Perera said that the new government hopes to maintain the ban imposed on the Tamil organizations that were alleged to have links with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and there had been no discussion or consideration by the new administration about lifting the bans imposed on them. KABUL -- Militancy and conflicts claimed six lives including four police and two insurgents and injured 10 others including five militants in the western and eastern part of the militancy- plagued Afghanistan on Sunday, officials confirmed Monday.

Four police were killed and three others injured Sunday night as anti-government militants presumably Taliban fighters stormed a police checkpoint in Chasht district, Herat province with Herat city as its capital 640 km west of Kabul, head of Herat provincial council Kamran Alizai said Monday. ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan on Monday conducted a successful flight test of an indigenously developed cruise missile that enables the country to achieve strategic standoff capability on land and at sea, the military said.
