Budget carrier Scoot gets first 787 Dreamliner

Xinhua, February 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner of medium and long-haul budget carrier Scoot touched down in Singapore on Monday, the first Dreamliner jet delivered to a Singapore carrier.

The aircraft flew in on Monday from Boeing's factory in Everett, the United States, with nearly 40 guests, including members of the media, contest winners and Scoot staff.

The Boeing 787-9 is the first of 20 Boeing 787s Scoot will receive over the next few years. Scoot Chief Executive Officer said it would allow the carrier to triple in size, add new destinations and increase frequencies while maintaining value airfares. He said it would be a "game changer" and "the start of a new chapter."

The carrier's first Boeing 787-9 will take off on its first commercial flight to Perth on Thursday, it said. Endi
