Japanese delegation visits Indonesia to boost economic ties

Japan is willing to continue its economic partnership with Indonesia, a senior official at Japan Trade and Industry said here on Monday.

Speaking on the sidelines of his meeting with Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla in the latter's office, Head of Japan Trade and Industry Chamber Akio Mimura said Indonesia has very promising economic future with average per-capita income estimate of 3,500 U. S. dollars and the nation's plans to join the ASEAN Economic Community in 2016.

"We regard Indonesia as a promising country. Demands in doing business with Indonesia among Japanese businessmen are high. Japan and Indonesia also have good relations," Akio told reporters.

During his visit in Indonesia, he was accompanied by 80 Japanese businessmen.

Besides meeting with the vice president, Akio said that his delegation also has schedules to meet President Joko Widodo, as well as ministers and Indonesian businessmen. Endi
