The U.S. and partner-nation military forces have conducted a total of 34 airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) forces in Syria and Iraq over the past two days, the U.S. Defense Department said on Monday.

According to a DOD statement, 21 airstrikes were conducted near Qaim, Raqqah and Kobani in Syria, destroying 12 IS vehicles, 14 IS tactical units, eight IS fighting positions and an IS staging area.

Meanwhile, the international military forces conducted 13 airstrikes in six regions including Mosul, Tal Afar and Haditha across Iraq. (U.S.-IS-Airstrikes)

KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia Airlines said Monday in a statement that its user data remained secured after its Domain Name System (DNS) had been compromised.

It said that its DNS had been compromised where users were re-directed to a hacker website when www.malaysiaairlines.com URL was keyed in, adding that its web servers were intact at this stage. (Malaysia-Airlines-Hack Attack)

BAQUBA, Iraq -- The Iraqi security forces on Monday freed the country's eastern province of Diyala from the Islamic State (IS) militants after three days of fierce clashes, the provincial police chief and security source said.

"Diyala province is now free from the IS militant group completely after the military offensive that started on Friday and ended on Sunday night," Lieutenant General Jamil al-Shimary told reporters. (Iraq-IS)

CAIRO -- The death toll from clashes on Sunday between protesters and the police has risen to 23, as Egypt marked the fourth anniversary of its 2011 revolution that ousted former president Hosni Mubarak, the Health Ministry statement said on Monday.

The clashes left 20 dead in Cairo, Giza and Alexandria including two police officers and two Copts, while the other three were killed when planting explosive devices near a security checkpoint and power plants in provinces of Behera and Damietta, the statement said, adding that 97 people were injured, including 19 security men during the anniversary clashes.
