Xinhua, January 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Equatorial Guinea's national team, Nzalang Nacional on Wednesday settled for a goalless draw against Burkina Faso in their second Group A game at the on-going Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

With the home fans cheering in big numbers at the Bata Stadium, the hosts failed to break the Burkina Faso defense.

Emilio Nsue Lopez, who scored in their first game against Congo Brazziville, was a threat to the Burkina Faso defense along with the enterprising Enrique Boula Senobua.

The Burkina Faso team, finalist of the 2013 competition, failed to finish at goal after creating numerous scoring opportunities. Star player Jonathan Pitriopa wasted several chances and was replaced later by Niguimbe Prejuce Nakoulma.

After a 1-1 draw with Congo Brazzaville in the opening game, the hosts have now collected two points, while Burkina Faso remain bottom of Group A with a single point and two goals conceded after they lost 2-0 to Gabon.

Meanwhile, the Equatorial Guinea FA has communicated that there are no worries of the deadly Ebola virus as their medical personnel are busy on the ground. "The government is well in control over everything to do with security and health issues. The tournament is moving on well," said the FA President Andres Jorge Mbomio.

Several fans from around the world especially from Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Cameroon traveled to Equatorial Guinea to cheer their teams. Endite
