French stock market index up 0.87 pct on Wednesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 0.87 percent to close at 4,484.82 points on Wednesday, up 38.80 points.

Investors are cheered by the rumors that the European Central Bank would start purchasing sovereign bonds. At closing, 31 of the 40 selected companies gained advance.

Wednesday's top three gainers were Techinip, up 5.38 percent, Alstom, up 3.98 percent, and Kering, up 3.32 percent.

The three companies which lost most on Wednesday were Unibail-Rodamco, down 1.32 percent, Alcatel-Lucent, down 0.87 percent, and GDF Suez, down 0.58 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.61 percent to close at 4,446.02 points, up 51.09 points. Enditem
