Kolo Abib Toure, who features for English Premier League side Liverpool FC, is among the four players to make history at the on-going Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Equatorial Guinea.

The Ivory Coast defender, also a brother to Manchester City's Yaya Toure, is among the players making their seventh appearance in the biggest football showpiece in Africa.

Toure together with the Ivory Coast duo of Boubacar Barry and Siaka Tiene have appeared in six other Editions of the Afcon competition which include; 2002, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013.

According to the communication department of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mali's captain Seydou Keita is also another player who is making seven appearances in the Afcon Editions.

Since making his debut in 2002, Keita also appeared in 2004, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013 editions.

Keita shares the same record with former Ivorian goalkeeper Alain Gouamene, but still falls short of the eight appearances by former Cameroon captain Rigobert Song. Zambian captain Rainford Kalaba and goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene will also be making their fifth appearances.

According to CAF records, Tunisia is the only team to have participated at the final tournament and all eight successive appearances since 2000.
