Singapore stocks close 0.8 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 26.32 points, or 0.8 percent, to close at 3,334.02.

A total of 1.23 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 950 billion Singapore dollars (714 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 275 to 147, while 520 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 7.02 points, or 0.21 percent, to close at 3,307.7 on Monday. Endi
