Rwandan President Paul Kagame met with visiting Indian minister of small and medium enterprises, Kalraj Mshra, on Saturday to discuss areas of mutual cooperation.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, Mshra said the discussion dwelt on development areas where India can partner with Rwanda.

"We discussed areas relating to mutual cooperation between India and Rwanda. With mutual understanding, we can achieve a lot. We are putting our focus on economic, skills development, and self employment," he told journalist after meeting the meeting in Kigali.

Mshra was in the country for a three-day visit during which he officiated the launch of India-Africa Vocational Training and Incubation Center in Gasabo district, Kigali.

The center is to provide manufacturing skills to youth in various fields such as bakery, tomato ketchup and fruit juice making, edible oil processing and soya milk extraction.

Rwanda's Minister of State in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, Albert Nsengiyumva, who also attended the meeting, said plans are underway to open similar incubation centers in different parts of the country.

The incubation center targets unemployed Rwandan youth with entrepreneurship interest who will be offered six months of training.

Rwanda and India signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up the incubation center in August 2013. Endi
