Australia lead 3-0 in Asian Cup first half against Oman

Xinhua, January 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Australia led 3-0 at half time in the second round against Oman in Asian Cup here on Tuesday.

Although Oman led the attacking rhythm for the first five minutes, the Socceroos fought back with a lot of supports from local fans.

Australia took a 1-0 lead from a corner kick in the 27th minutes. Matt Mckay caught a pass from Trent Sainsbury and kicked it into the net.

Before Oman squad gathered around, Robbie Kruse helped the Socceroos expand the leading edge. Massimo Luongo made a brilliant flick pass into the box, and Kruse made a surging run down the center bottom to score.

In the added time, Mark Milligan's shot was disallowed but the referee pointed to the spot instead. Milligan converted the penalty to help Australia lead 3-0 in the first half. Endi
