Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday urged the expansion of bilateral ties with Venezuela in diverse areas.
The expansion of ties with Latin America countries, particularly with Venezuela, is on the agenda of the administration, Rouhani said in a meeting with his visiting Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro.
The Islamic republic is ready to export goods, technical and engineering services and to invest in Venezuela, and can cooperate with the Latin American country to meet its needs in housing and road constructions as well as food and medicine industries, Rouhani said.
The Iranian president expressed the hope that Maduro's visit will result in the enhancement of mutual trade, continuation of collaboration in marine industries and the launch of a joint airline for boosting tourism.
"With no doubt, the cooperation among the member states of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) will offset the plots of some powers against the OPEC and will help the establishment of an acceptable oil prices for 2015," Rouhani said.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived in Iran on Friday for an official visit and planed to hold talks with Iranian senior officials on a range of bilateral and international issues.
The Venezuelan leader is also expected to visit more member states of the OPEC, including Saudi Arabia, to discuss the oil market slump. Endit
