French stock market index strongly rebounds by 3.59 pct on Thursday

Xinhua, January 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 strongly rebounded by 3.59 percent to close at 4,260.19 points on Thursday, up 147.46 points.

The CAC 40 closed the year 2014 at 4,272.75 points, then experienced three consecutive decrease in the first three trading day in 2015. The first five trading days always set the tones for the market for the whole year. Thanks to Thursday's rebound, the CAC 40 is almost back to where it was at the end of 2014.

The CAC 40 strongly rebounded Thursday due to the facts that the decline of euro is considered as favorite of huge enterprises in Europe, that the oil price is stabilized and that Wall Street performed well. At closing, all of 40 selected companies gained advance.

Thursday's top three gainers were Pernod Ricard, up 5.26 percent, Valeo, up 5.17 percent, and Carrefour, up 4.55 percent.

In previous trading day, Jan. 7, the CAC 40 gained a slight advance of 0.72 percent to close at 4,112.73 points, up 29.23 points. Endit
