Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in November 2012, the international community has shown strong interest in China's future direction and the influence it will bring to the world, said Cai Mingzhao, director for China's State Council Information Office, at the launch ceremony of the book.

"Xi Jinping: The Governance of China," which records the thinking and practice of Xi and the central leadership, responds to the concerns of the international community and opens a window for outsiders to observe and understand China, he said.

The book, published in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese, carries 79 items in 18 sections, including Xi's speeches, answers to questions, and instructions from Nov. 15, 2012 to June 13, 2014.

"It provides readers with access to China's development path and direction, its reform and foreign policy, as well as the Chinese leader's charisma," Cai said.

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said: "After Xi took office as Chinese president and CPC Central Committee general secretary, the Chinese government has put forward an ambitious and comprehensive reform plan. This book explains the position of the Chinese president and the central leadership of the country, which could help us understand China's politics."

Robert Lawrence Kuhn, chairman of U.S. Kuhn Foundation, said the book is a milestone as it explains and enriches the idea of the Chinese Dream.

"This book is about how he thinks. It reflects the pride of a patriot," he said.

The book also includes 45 photos of Xi in various periods of life to help the readers understand his career and personal experiences.

More than 400 guests, including German officials, diplomats in Frankfurt, China specialists from various countries, and publishers, attended the event.
