The history of China's railway transport

On Oct. 30, 1946, with the approval of the Chinese authorities, a locomotive in northeast China's Harbin Locomotive Section is named after Mao Zedong. In the next three years, the locomotive undertook transportation missions, carrying both troops and military supplies. In 1949, it arrived in Beijing and was placed in the Beijing Locomotive Section.
